Visakhapatnam, 20th November 2024: Vesuvius, a global leader in refractory solutions, inaugurated its new Alumina-Silica (AlSi) and Basic Monolithic manufacturing plants in Visakhapatnam on November 12, 2024. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to the Make in India initiative.
The state-of-the-art plants, designed to produce 250,000 tons annually, will address the growing demand from the iron and steel sector. They also feature advanced technologies to introduce new products and enhance operational efficiency.

Focus on Sustainability
Biswadip Gupta, Chairman of Vesuvius India Limited, highlighted the socio-economic benefits, stating, “These facilities strengthen local communities while prioritizing sustainability.”
Managing Director Mohinder Rajput echoed this sentiment, emphasizing energy-efficient processes and waste reduction systems that align growth with environmental responsibility.
This expansion follows the April inauguration of Vesuvius’s Mould Flux plant in the same city, reinforcing Visakhapatnam’s role as a key hub for the company’s operations.
