National, October 24, 2024 — Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, and Keppel, a global asset manager from Singapore, have teamed up to introduce sustainable Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) solutions in India. This initiative aims to provide energy-efficient cooling solutions, helping businesses and building owners reduce energy consumption without the need for large infrastructure investments.
This collaboration aligns with India’s Cooling Action Plan (ICAP) and Smart Cities Mission, focusing on large-scale cooling systems and individual building solutions to address high-demand sectors such as airports, IT parks, and data centers. The adoption of CaaS could potentially reduce energy use by 40% and cut carbon emissions by 50%.

Tata Power, known for its extensive energy solutions across India, will contribute its local expertise and infrastructure to this collaboration. Meanwhile, Keppel will bring its experience from Asia, where it has successfully implemented CaaS solutions.
Tata Power’s CEO, Tarun Katiyar, emphasized the significance of this partnership in enhancing energy efficiency and achieving India’s sustainability goals.
