KAVACH: A New Era in Railway Safety
South Western Railway has initiated a groundbreaking project for the deployment of KAVACH, an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. This Rs. 379 crore initiative will cover 1568 route kilometers (RKM) across Hubballi, Bengaluru, and Mysuru divisions, with a targeted completion time of 18 months.
KAVACH, a cornerstone of the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India missions, is designed to enhance train safety and operational efficiency while reducing the risk of collisions and derailments.
