The 82nd meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) was held on October 24, 2024. Chaired by Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur, Additional Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the meeting aimed to assess vital infrastructure projects across India.
Evaluating Key Infrastructure Projects
Representatives from various sectors participated, including project proponents, the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N), and state nodal officers. Their discussions centered on improving multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency as part of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS NMP).
The NPG evaluated seven projects based on core PM GatiShakti principles. These principles emphasize:
- Integrated development of multimodal infrastructure
- Last-mile connectivity to economic and social nodes
- Intermodal connectivity
- Synchronized project implementation
These projects are poised to enhance national development, improve logistical efficiency, reduce travel times, and deliver significant socio-economic benefits.
