Ministry Approves Rs 1255 Crore for Northern Patiala Bypass Construction

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has sanctioned ₹1255.59 crore for the construction of the Northern Patiala Bypass, a 4-lane access-controlled road. This project is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in Patiala and boost the movement of goods across the region.

Project Details

Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, made the announcement on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). The new 28.9 km bypass will help complete the ring road around Patiala. Its main goal is to ease the city’s traffic woes by offering an alternative route for vehicles.

Boost for Regional Connectivity

Apart from reducing traffic, the Northern Patiala Bypass will enhance regional connectivity. It will improve the transport network, making it easier for goods and logistics to flow smoothly between major routes. This is expected to give a significant push to both the local economy and infrastructure.
