Kochi – Hyderabad-based Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals has announced a major expansion into Kerala, with plans to set up 3000 beds and create 10,000 job opportunities over the next five years. KIMS Hospitals, one of India’s largest corporate healthcare chains, currently operates 16 hospitals with over 5000 beds across five states: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Karnataka.
In Kerala, KIMS has already begun its expansion by taking over Sreechand Hospital in Kannur and entering a management contract with Westfort Hospital in Thrissur. Development is underway at both facilities.

Within the next two years, KIMS plans to build new hospitals in Kochi and Kozhikode, each with an 800-bed capacity. The expansion includes a fully equipped oncology and transplant center in Kannur and a 350-bed hospital in Thrissur focused on advanced transplant services. Future plans also involve acquiring hospitals in Calicut and Trivandrum, with a long-term goal of establishing healthcare facilities across all Kerala districts.
Dr. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals, emphasized the commitment to affordable, world-class healthcare: “Our aim is to ensure accessible clinical services for all, so no one is deprived of necessary treatment due to financial limitations.”

This growth will address both healthcare needs and provide substantial employment opportunities across the state.
