Jewar, Uttar Pradesh – In a historic milestone, the first validation flight successfully landed at Noida International Airport (NIA) on December 9, 2024, heralding the next chapter in India’s aviation journey. Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu oversaw the occasion, joined by MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and MLA Shri Dhirendra Singh. The IndiGo-operated flight received a ceremonial water cannon salute, drawing applause from site workers and officials alike.
The validation flight tested critical systems, including navigational aids and air traffic controls, ensuring the airport’s readiness. Minister Naidu highlighted the transformative potential of Jewar Airport, set to open in April 2025 with a passenger capacity of 12 million annually. “Jewar Airport will elevate regional connectivity and reflect the cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh,” he remarked.

Connectivity plans, including road, rail, and future high-speed rail links, are under review to position NIA as a pivotal transport hub. Sustainability remains a focus, with solar energy powering the facility.
The airport, expected to create thousands of jobs, stands as a testament to India’s infrastructural progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. Minister Naidu extended gratitude to the farmers of Jewar and the hardworking site workers who made this vision possible.
