Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The Odisha Solar Investor Conclave, hosted by GRIDCO, saw Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) Chairman and Managing Director Shri Pradip Kumar Das reaffirm the agency’s commitment to advancing the state’s ambitious renewable energy (RE) goals. Odisha aims to achieve a 10 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030, and IREDA has sanctioned over ₹3,000 crore for green energy projects in the state to support this vision.
In his address, Shri Das emphasized the importance of accessible financing to accelerate renewable energy initiatives. He highlighted IREDA’s digitized, borrower-friendly processes that enable seamless support for solar, hydro, ethanol, and renewable manufacturing sectors in Odisha.
“Odisha has immense potential to become a leading solar power producer and a hub for solar equipment manufacturing,” said Shri Das, adding that IREDA’s contributions nationally have already reached ₹2.08 lakh crore in sanctioned loans and ₹1.36 lakh crore in disbursed funds for RE projects.

IREDA’s financial support is not limited to solar; it also extends to emerging technologies like ethanol production, EV fleet financing, green ammonia, and pumped storage hydropower. Shri Das reiterated IREDA’s role as a market catalyst, aiming to contribute 10-15% of renewable energy debt financing in India.
This aligns with India’s larger vision of achieving a green energy revolution, with Odisha playing a pivotal role in the transition.
