December 24, 2024 – HFCL Limited, a leading technology enterprise, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art defence manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This move aligns with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, reinforcing self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
The facility, launched on December 23, 2024, is dedicated to producing advanced defence equipment, including Thermal Weapon Sights, Electronic Fuzes, High Capacity Radio Relays (HCRR), and Surveillance Radars. It has a production capacity of up to 5,000 Thermal Weapon Sights, 250,000 Electronic Fuzes, and 1,000 units each of HCRR systems and Ground Surveillance Radars annually.
Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, former DRDO Chairman, graced the event as Chief Guest and emphasized HFCL’s potential to reduce import reliance while becoming a global exporter of defence technologies.

The facility features advanced clean rooms (10,000 Class and 1,00,000 Class) for the production of Thermal Imaging Cores and Weapon Sights, ensuring high-quality standards. HFCL’s innovative solutions, such as Thermal Weapon Sights compatible with small arms and FMCW-based Surveillance Radars, aim to meet modern military demands.
