GAIL (India) Limited has signed a landmark 10-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with ADNOC Gas for the supply of up to 0.52 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of liquified natural gas (LNG). Deliveries will start in 2026, with ADNOC Gas shipping six cargoes per year from its Das Island facility, known for its established LNG processing capacity.
This is ADNOC Gas’ first SPA with an Indian buyer, marking a strategic move for both companies as they look to meet India’s growing natural gas demand. Mr. Kumar, GAIL’s Director of Marketing, emphasized that the agreement supports GAIL’s ambition to expand its LNG portfolio and better serve its diverse consumer base.

ADNOC Gas Senior VP, Mr. Rashid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, highlighted the partnership’s role in addressing the increasing global demand for lower-carbon energy. He noted that LNG demand is set to grow by 15% over the next decade, driven by coal-to-gas shifts and rising power demands in Asia.
India, currently the world’s fourth-largest LNG importer, is aiming to increase natural gas’s share in its energy mix to 15% by 2030. With expanding infrastructure, this deal further positions India to meet its ambitious energy transition goals.
