GAIL (India) Limited and VERBIO India Private Limited have signed a partnership to develop Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants in India. The goal is to create energy from farm waste, helping both the environment and local farmers.
The agreement was signed in New Delhi by leaders from both companies, including GAIL’s Chairman, Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta, and VERBIO’s CEO, Shri Claus Sauter. Together, they plan to identify areas where new CBG plants can be built, especially using farm residues like crop stubble.
This collaboration could boost income for farmers by turning agricultural waste into energy and reducing pollution from stubble burning. GAIL and VERBIO will also consider setting up a joint venture and may invest in an existing CBG plant in Punjab.

This initiative will not only provide renewable energy but will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable future.
