December 4, 2024 – Ericsson has secured a multi-year, multi-billion dollar deal with Bharti Airtel to provide advanced 4G and 5G RAN products and solutions. The new contract focuses on deploying centralized RAN and Open RAN-ready solutions to support network transformation. This collaboration will enhance Airtel’s network coverage and capacity, ultimately improving customer experience.
Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, expressed that the partnership with Ericsson reflects the company’s drive for network excellence. “This deployment will improve network speed, reliability, and coverage, ensuring an exceptional customer experience,” he said.
Andres Vicente, Head of Ericsson South-East Asia, Oceania, and India, emphasized the shared vision between the two companies to build a robust infrastructure for both 4G and 5G services. “This partnership will address the growing demand for new 5G use cases,” Vicente noted.
