Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), Mysuru, has issued an invitation for electronic bids under competitive bidding for the conversion of existing HT/LT overhead power lines to underground (UG) cables and aerial bundled (AB) cables across several key areas in Mysuru City. The project aims to modernize the power infrastructure, improve reliability, and reduce interruptions for consumers.
Project Scope and Cost
This large-scale project involves converting the overhead HT and LT power lines into underground systems within Mysuru’s ring road and across major roads. The LT overhead lines in theft-prone and accident-prone areas will be replaced with AB cables. The project will enhance safety, reduce technical losses, and align Mysuru’s power infrastructure with modern standards. The project is expected to be completed in 2 years time from the date of award of work.
The project, covering key regions of Mysuru, is divided into sub-divisions with an estimated cost of ₹458 crore:
- NR Mohalla & Chamundipuram Sub-Divisions: ₹110.169 crore
- Kuvempunagar, Hootagally, & R.K. Nagar Sub-Divisions: ₹103.099 crore
- V.V. Mohalla Sub-Division: ₹132.634 crore
- Jyothinagar & Central Zone Sub-Divisions: ₹112.792 crore
