These Untied Grants enable Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to address location-specific needs, excluding salaries and establishment costs. Tied Grants, however, are earmarked for sanitation, ODF maintenance, waste management, drinking water supply, and water recycling projects.
The financial support under the XV Finance Commission is critical for empowering rural governance, improving accountability, and fostering self-reliance in villages.
