The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Rithala-Narela-Nathupur (Kundli) corridor under Delhi Metro’s Phase-IV project. This 26.463 km elevated line will boost connectivity between Delhi and Haryana, with 21 stations planned along the route.
The project, costing ₹6,230 crore, will be implemented by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as a 50:50 partnership between the Government of India and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is expected to be completed within four years.

The new corridor will extend the operational Red Line from Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) in Ghaziabad to Nathupur in Haryana, improving transport in areas like Rohini, Bawana, and Narela. It will reduce road congestion and vehicle pollution while fostering economic growth in the region.
Currently, Delhi Metro serves 64 lakh passenger journeys daily across its 12 lines and 392 km network. The Rithala-Kundli extension will mark Delhi Metro’s fourth expansion into Haryana, joining Gurugram, Ballabhgarh, and Bahadurgarh.
