Chamarajnagar, Karnataka: Birla Opus Paints, part of Grasim Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, has inaugurated its fourth factory in Chamarajnagar, Karnataka. The state-of-the-art plant boosts the company’s manufacturing capacity to 866 million liters per annum (MLPA), making it the second-largest decorative paints company in India by installed capacity.
The fully automated plant will produce water-based, enamel, and wood finish paints, incorporating advanced materials and technology for superior performance and sustainability. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, highlighted the company’s vision to lead the decorative paint industry while catering to the growing demand in southern India.

The Chamarajnagar facility, with a capacity of 230 MLPA, is part of a larger plan to establish six plants nationwide with a total capacity of 1,332 MLPA. The company aims to hit ₹10,000 crore in revenue within three years of full-scale operations.
CEO Mr. Rakshit Hargave emphasized the company’s focus on cutting-edge R&D, eco-friendly practices, and innovative features, which have been well-received by customers. The brand’s recent campaign, “Naye Zamane Ka Naya Paint,” reflects its commitment to delivering modern, high-quality products.
Birla Opus Paints products are now available in over 4,300 towns, including rural markets, as it expands its footprint across India.
