Dehradun/Bengaluru: ITI Limited, India’s first public sector undertaking after independence, has secured a ₹95 crore contract to develop a Mining Digital Transformation & Surveillance System (MDTSS) in Uttarakhand. The project, initiated by the state government, aims to prevent illegal mining, monitor mineral transport, and increase revenue.
The contract covers implementing the system in four districts—Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar—across 40 check gates. Advanced technology such as bullet cameras, RFID radars, and LED floodlights will be used to monitor mining activities. A central control center will be established in Dehradun, with district-level command centers.
