Nazara and ONDC Network Partner to Launch “gCommerce” in India

A New Era for In-Game Monetization, Unlocking Revenue Opportunities for Game Developers

November 13, 2024: Nazara Technologies Limited, a leader in gaming and sports media, has partnered with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to launch “gCommerce,” an innovative platform that brings e-commerce into the gaming world. This new system will offer Indian game developers fresh revenue streams and help address the longstanding challenge of low in-app purchase rates and limited ad revenues.

The gCommerce platform enables developers to earn commissions through an affiliate revenue-sharing model, where players can make purchases without leaving their game. ONDC’s vast network of sellers provides over ten categories of products, creating a rich, diverse shopping experience embedded within games.

Game Developers Gain More Revenue

Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara, emphasized the potential of this integration: “gCommerce represents a significant step forward in empowering game developers with effective and innovative monetization solutions.”

Currently in soft launch, gCommerce will become available to game developers starting Q1, FY26, ushering in a new era for gaming monetization in India.
