IndiaAI and Meta have announced the establishment of the Center for Generative AI, called Srijan, at IIT Jodhpur. Meta will fund Srijan and provide research support to foster open-source AI solutions for India’s education, mobility, and healthcare sectors.
Srijan’s goal is to help students and young developers learn to use AI to solve real-world problems. With IndiaAI’s support, the center will focus on developing local AI skills, creating jobs, and driving India’s growth in technology. IIT Jodhpur will run workshops, hackathons, and training sessions to help students and startups develop AI skills.

Meta has pledged INR 750 Lakhs over three years, supporting Srijan’s mission to nurture AI talent and make advanced AI tools accessible. The center will partner with other educational and healthcare institutions across India, empowering students and young professionals to lead in AI development responsibly.
Indian government officials say this collaboration will help India reach its ambitious technology goals and become a leader in AI.
