Suzlon Group and Jindal Renewables have deepened their partnership with a new 302.4 MW wind power project in Karnataka’s Koppal region. This collaboration boosts Suzlon’s cumulative capacity for Jindal Renewables to 702.4 MW, making it the largest commercial and industrial (C&I) order from a single customer in India.

The project will utilize 96 advanced S144 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW, to power steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha. This initiative aligns with India’s goal of sourcing 50% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2030.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said, “This project underscores our commitment to green steel production and strengthens our strategic collaboration with Jindal Renewables.” Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, added, “Decarbonizing steel production is a critical step toward a sustainable future.”

Suzlon’s total order book now stands at a record 5.4 GW, with 56% of its orders coming from C&I customers.
