Paytm, India’s leading payment platform owned by One 97 Communications Limited, has launched the UPI Lite Auto Top-Up feature to streamline daily transactions. Designed for payments under ₹500, this feature eliminates the need for PIN entry, making small-value payments faster and more convenient.
Key highlights of the feature include:
- Automatic Recharge: Ensures your UPI Lite balance auto-recharges when it dips below a set limit, offering seamless functionality.
- Clutter-Free Statements: Processes small payments via an on-device wallet to keep your bank statements organized.
- Simplified Tracking: Users can download detailed UPI transaction statements for effective expense management.

With a transaction limit of ₹500 and a daily cap of ₹2000, the service is perfect for recurring expenses like groceries, chai, metro rides, and more. Currently available with Yes Bank and Axis Bank handles, Paytm plans to expand this feature across all partner banks.
Paytm UPI Lite also enables users to create UPI handles, add money from linked accounts, and make international UPI payments in supported countries, including the UAE and Singapore.
A Paytm spokesperson highlighted, “This feature makes everyday payments seamless while maintaining an uncluttered main bank statement. Users can now track and manage expenses more effectively.”
