The Indian Army and C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) have partnered to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow. This collaboration, formalized through an MoU, aims to advance Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defence technology by fostering indigenous innovation.
The CoE will focus on research in Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, Wireless Communication, Digital Twin technology, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). It will develop and test field-ready prototypes, addressing critical military challenges.
This partnership will leverage C-DAC’s R&D capabilities and MCTE’s operational expertise, combining knowledge for real-world applications. Workshops, seminars, and training programs will enhance skill development in emerging domains.

Lt Gen K H Gawas, Commandant of MCTE, called it a significant step for national defence. Dr. E. Magesh, Director General of C-DAC, highlighted the potential to revolutionize military technology. Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, Additional Secretary at MeitY, praised the initiative as a milestone in fostering innovation.
This CoE represents a major step in strengthening India’s defence through indigenous solutions and advanced technology.
